Tuna Lazos de Amistad
Music

Yes, they really are a musical tuna. Tuna is a musical group that is following a tradition that was born in Spain 800 years ago! Traditionally the “Tuna” was a group of poor university students that strolled through towns entertaining people with their singing and dancing all in exchange for a warm bowl of soup and a bit of money to help them with tuition. At night they ardently played beneath the balconies of the women they liked, hoping to woo them with their romantic serenades.

Eventually, this tradition spread to all Spanish-speaking lands…and now Canada has its own musical “Tuna”! Tuna Lazos de Amistad has performed at corporate events such as IBM’s Diversity Day; multicultural events for the Baha’i community and for the Salvation Army, Festival Ritmo & Color at Diaspora Colombiana at Harbour Front, Carrasauga Festival , Canadian Hispanic Congress and Hispanic Fiesta. They also have performed at many Latin American events (Charity at Lula Lounge, large Christmas parties, BBQ’s, weddings and birthday parties). Their cheerful Spanish songs and dances never fail to delight audiences of all ages and backgrounds. We hope you enjoy the Tuna Lazos de Amistad!!
