Raúl Pinto

Raúl A. Pinto is an award-winning filmmaker, journalist, and multimedia producer with extensive experience in documentary storytelling and digital media. He was the director and producer of Hola News Canada, a documentary-style program on TLN/Univision Canada, for four years. He also creates social media video content for El Centro Newspaper and Correo Canadiense, as well as for community organizations and private entrepreneurs. Currently, he is a videographer and multimedia manager at the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario (RNAO), producing impactful visual narratives on healthcare and advocacy.

In 2022, he was a recipient of the TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) Media Fund, further solidifying his connection to Canada’s film industry. His work has been widely recognized, earning the 2024 COPA Award for Best Video Content (after nominations in 2022 and 2023) and the 2019 Latin Canadian Award for Journalist of the Year (also nominated in 2018). His artistic achievements in theatre were also celebrated with a Marty Award for emerging theatre artists in Mississauga in 2024.

Beyond film, Raúl has an extensive background as a journalist and reporter, collaborating with El Centro Newspaper (where he is currently a film critic), Correo Canadiense, Toronto Hispano, Latinos Magazine, and New Canadian Media. He also served as News Director at CHHA 1610 AM Voces Latinas.
