Fabián Arciniegas

Fabián Arciniegas is a versatile Colombian-Canadian singer and actor, capable of bringing to life a wide repertoire ranging from Baroque to contemporary music.
Inspired by his love for chamber singing, Fabián discovered a passion for contemporary composers, leading him to successful tours across Canada and internationally as part of the Crossing Borders series. He has premiered works by renowned composers such as Saman Shahi, Patricia Morehead, Michelle Lorimer, Chia Yin Wu, and Mario Gómez Vignes. He has collaborated with prestigious organizations such as the Canadian Opera Company, Toronto Operetta Theatre, and Opera in Concert.
He is the creator and performer of The Colores, a show that invites audiences to connect with classical and contemporary music through pop music and storytelling. In September 2024, he premiered his new show, My Shadow and I, as part of the Northumberland Festival of the Arts.
Recently, he participated in the Toronto premiere of the opera Angel’s Bone by composer Du Yun, in collaboration with Loose Tea Theatre and Sound The Alarm Theatre.

In 2023, he performed in the Canadian premiere of Saman Shahi’s new opera, Before the Last Meter, at the Watershed Festival in Kingston, Ontario. The opera had previously premiered in Atlanta. Additionally, he premiered the song Landscape for Tenor and String Orchestra by Patricia Morehead and presented his show The Colores in Parry Sound, Toronto, Warkworth, and Cobourg.
In 2015, after premiering Saman Shahi’s song cycle Orbit, he was invited by the composer to record and perform the works for his debut album, released in September 2020.
In previous seasons, he participated in the Canadian Opera Company chorus in productions such as Verdi’s Aida (canceled due to COVID-19), Otello, and Wagner’s Götterdämmerung. He also performed the role of Le Remendado in Carmen on Tap! directed by Julie Nesrallah.
Throughout his career, he has worked under the direction of renowned conductors such as Johannes Debus, Kevin Mallon, Derek Bate, Robert Cooper, Sandra Horst, Miah Im, Andrés Posada, Miguel Caballero, Alberto Guzmán, and Dmitri Manolov.
